Vineyard: Historic Merlot vineyard, planted in 1981 by Francisco Martínez Bermell on the highest site of Finca Casa Don Ángel. Due to natural yield reduction, the vines produce loose, healthy grapes, yielding approximately 1.5 kg per vine.

Soils: Calcareous clay soils with good drainage – ideal for the ripening of Merlot with Mediterranean character.

Climate: Continental-Mediterranean climate with hot days and cool nights, leading to early ripening and aromatic concentration.

Vinification: Alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels (225 l), followed by aging for 2 months in the same barrels.

Maturation: 2 months in new French oak barrels

Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.

Tasting Note: Intense cherry red with a violet rim and dense teardrops. Ripe red fruits, violets, subtle vanilla, and roasted aromas on the nose. Fresh and balanced on the palate, with round tannins, mineral notes, and a long, elegant finish.

Food recommendation: Ideal with beef, lamb or mature cheese.

This wine is the region’s first “Vino de Pago” and honors the founder of the winery, Francisco Martínez Bermell.
