Bobal, the native grape of Utiel-Requena in Valencia, is experiencing a renaissance after decades in the shadows. Once valued mainly for blending, it is now producing elegant, terroir-driven wines with bright acidity, firm tannins, and notes of wild herbs, red and blue fruit—thanks to dedicated producers like Vera de Estenas, Pago de Tharsys, and Bodega y Viñedos Carres. Resilient old vines, unique high-altitude terroirs, and modern winemaking are putting Bobal firmly on the list of Spain’s most exciting varieties to watch.

However, on our travels, we discovered so many exciting smaller wine producers and their wines that inspired us. We wanted to not just keep them to ourselves, but also share them with other wine lovers. So we decided to make these rarities accessible to wine lovers via our platform.
According to Luis Gutiérrez's report (Robert Parker Wine Advocate, July 2025), Galicia is developing into one of Spain's most exciting wine regions. The wines impress with their freshness, elegance, and great diversity, characterized by native grape varieties and the influence of small, organic winemakers. Also particularly noteworthy is James Suckling's selection of the Meixemán from Guímaro as Spain's best wine.
