Vel'uveyra, in Galician “mira la viña”, represents the phases of the moon and the changing color of the Mencía grapes throughout the seasons.
The wine displays a bright ruby red in the glass with violet reflections. The nose is dominated by aromas of wild berries such as blackberries and sloes, accompanied by notes of dried violet blossoms. Subtle herbal and mineral notes lend the bouquet further elegance. On the palate, the wine is creamy and structured, with harmoniously integrated acidity. Balsamic notes and a fresh, subtle spiciness round out the flavor. The Garnacha and Mouratón add depth, while the fruit and minerality of the granite soil remain present. The wine is balanced, pleasant, and extremely enjoyable, with a long and elegant finish.
Vel'uveyra Mencía 2023 is an elegant and authentic expression of the Ribeira Sacra. Perfect with tapas, grilled vegetables, or light meat dishes, it's a wine that masterfully highlights the depth and versatility of the Mencía grape, as well as the region's unique climate and terroir.
