Rosé

For us, rosé is not a summer wine you forget about in September. Many of the 16 rosés here have enough structure for the dinner table: Mourvèdre from Bandol, Bobal from Utiel-Requena, Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, Mencía from the Ribeira Sacra. Nine come from Spain, six from the south of France and one from Piedmont. From CHF 15.50.

The rosé our customers buy most is the Carrascal Rosado de Bobal from Viña de Eufemia: pure Bobal from vines over 60 years old, only 1,600 bottles. From Bandol we recommend Gros’Noré with 54 per cent Mourvèdre and the Trois Filles Bandol Rosé with 60 per cent. For the Raíz de Guzmán Rosado de Lágrima, the Tempranillo juice is run off without pressing. And the Ronsel do Sil Vel’Uveyra Rosado spends six months in French oak, 1,200 bottles from the Ribeira Sacra.
