Rías Baixas

The Rías Baixas are the estuaries on Galicia's Atlantic coast, and two of our estates come from there. Attis is in the Val do Salnés, the coolest and most coastal part of the region, Veigamoura in the Condado do Tea. The soils are granite, the vines grow on pergolas, and most of the wine is Albariño. Attis also makes reds from Espadeiro, Pedral and Sousón, plus orange, rosé and sweet wines. The ones sold under the Sitta name carry no D.O. 19 wines, from CHF 21.

The Fariña brothers, Robustiano and Baldomero, leave their Attis Mar 2023 in the Atlantic for six months after fermentation, in crates twelve metres deep among the mussel beds of the ría. For every day there is the Lías Finas 2024, Albariño from vines over 50 years old facing the sea, CHF 21. The Espadeiro 2019 shows what the Rías Baixas taste like as a red, 1,594 bottles. Toni Alonso makes nothing but Albariño at Veigamoura, and his Tríopo 2021 comes from barren granite slopes at 280 metres, CHF 45.
