In the glass and in the cellar

Grape variety: Indigenous red grape varieties of the Roero (not further specified)

Production: Light maceration and temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks (18 °C, 15 days); exclusively steel tank aging; dry; bottled young for maximum freshness.

Origin: Roero, Piedmont, Italy

Vineyard: The grapes come from red, indigenous grape varieties of the Roero region. The vines grow on sandy-calcareous soils typical of the hills of Vezza d'Alba, which promote a pronounced minerality and elegance. Hand-harvesting under dry conditions guarantees high quality.

Soils: Sandy limestone soils: light, mineral and ideal for fresh, aromatic rosé wines.

Climate: Continental with warm days and cool nights; dry harvest weather favors aromatic clarity and freshness.

Vinification: Short, light maceration; followed by gentle pressing and 15-day fermentation in stainless steel at 18 °C; exclusively stainless steel tank aging to preserve the fruit and minerality.

Alcohol content: 13% vol.

Tasting note: Delicate rosé with slightly greenish reflections. On the nose, elegant, fresh fruit aromas of raspberry, redcurrant, and cherry. On the palate , fresh, harmonious, and mineral, with a slightly spicy, clearly defined finish.

Food pairing suggestion: Excellent as an aperitif or with antipasti, light appetizers, fish dishes or summer cuisine.

Fabrizio Battaglino

The Colla vineyard of Fabrizio Battaglino's grandfather played a key role in the creation of the Roero DOCG. Fabrizio vinifies each plot around Vezza d'Alba separately, so you can taste the differences between the soils.

Still unsure?

What does the Colla vineyard have to do with the Roero DOCG?

The Colla vineyard has belonged to the family for generations; it was Fabrizio's grandfather's vineyard. It played a key role when the first Roero DOCG was recognised, and the family is still proud of that. Two of our Nebbiolos come from this site: the Roero Colla 2021 for CHF 27 and the Roero Riserva Colla 2020 for CHF 32.
