Rosaberto is one of the smallest wineries in Mallorca -- run with passion by Robert and Conny. Nestled in the hills near Felanitx, authentic wines from local grape varieties have been crafted here by hand since 2018, full of character. Here, among dry stone walls, wild herbs and the Mediterranean wind, Robert and Conny are living their dream -- with dedication, curiosity and respect for nature.
Rosaberto is a small winery on the Spanish island of Mallorca – more precisely near the town of Felanitx in the southeast of the island, where the renaissance of Mallorcan wine culture began in recent decades.
Behind the project are Conny Koeninger and Robert Schumacher, who bring their vision to life together with experienced oenologist Henri Fink and the Weinwert team – from planting to bottling, everything is carried out with passionate, hands-on dedication. Rosaberto is a project born out of love for nature in Mallorca and stands for authenticity, simplicity, and honesty.
The exclusive wines are made entirely from native grape varieties with full respect for nature and the environment. The vineyards are located near Felanitx – exactly where the revival of Mallorcan wine culture began a few decades ago (with the now famous AN/2 from Ànima Negra). For Conny and Robert, it was only natural to choose these original, indigenous, and rare varieties for their small winery, to produce high-quality Mallorcan wines. The vineyard is planted with the local red varieties Callet and Manto Negro, as well as the white varieties Prensal Blanc (also known as Moll) and Giró Ros.
Location & Soils
Location and soils The Rosaberto vines grow on barren, calcareous soils in the hilly landscape near Felanitx in the south-east of Mallorca -- interspersed with dry stone walls, Mediterranean herbs and coastal breezes.
Grapes
Vines Rosaberto works exclusively with autochthonous Mallorcan grape varieties such as Prensal Blanc, Giró Ros, Callet and Mantonegro -- characterful grapes that have been rooted on the island for centuries and authentically reflect the terroir with elegance, freshness and Mediterranean spice.
Climate
Climate The climate around Felanitx is typically Mediterranean -- with hot, dry summers, mild winters and cooling winds from the sea that lend the vines freshness and balance.
At Rosaberto, vinification follows a principle of restraint and care: the hand-harvested grapes of indigenous Mallorcan varieties are gently processed by Henri Fink and his team at Weinwert. After harvesting, the grapes undergo a gentle pressing, and fermentation takes place under controlled temperatures to preserve the freshness and typicity of the varieties. Ageing is carried out with minimal intervention, mostly in stainless steel tanks or neutral wood, to highlight the pure expression of grape and terroir. The result is honest, precise wines with a clear structure and a Mediterranean soul.
The indigenous grape varieties are perfectly adapted to the island’s soil and climatic conditions. This natural adaptability means that, despite the warm climate, native varieties do not develop excessively high sugar or alcohol levels, resulting in unique and exclusive wines. Sustainability is key: no chemical products are used in the vineyard, and biodiversity is promoted both in terms of plant cover and animal species diversity.
