Tempranillo

In Ribera del Duero, Tempranillo is called Tinto Fino, and there, at 820 to 970 metres with hot days and cold nights, the grape gains acidity and aroma. All nine Tempranillo wines in our range come from one house: Raíz de Guzmán in Roa de Duero, where Cayetana Santos runs the estate and Mapi Melado the cellar. From rosé to a wine with 36 months in barrique, from CHF 19.

Start with the Rosado de Lágrima 2025: Tempranillo made only from the juice that runs off the grapes without pressing, CHF 25. The Crianza 2022 spends twelve to fourteen months in barrique and is the wine for the grill, CHF 29. The Profunda 2019 comes from vines over 50 years old on the Moradillo plateau, at 970 metres, 6,000 bottles. And if you are looking for a wine for a special evening: there are 500 bottles of Cayetana 2017, from vines 60 to 80 years old, CHF 169.
