Year: 2024
Grape variety: 100% Albariño
Production: Not specified
Origin: DO Rías Baixas, Val do Salnés subzone
Vineyard: Selected vines over 50 years old, trained in traditional pergola systems. The westward exposure, overlooking the Atlantic, ensures optimal ventilation and ripening.
Soils: Deep granite weathering soil (Entisol) with a sandy-loamy structure – ideal conditions for mineral finesse.
Orientation: West
Climate: The 2024 season was characterized by a long, balanced growing cycle with moderate temperatures and cool nights. These conditions allowed for particularly slow ripening and resulted in an excellent balance between fruit, freshness, and structure.
Vinification: Careful hand-picking in small, perforated crates, followed by rigorous selection at the sorting table. Completely destemmed, gently pneumatically pressed. Cold clarification and spontaneous fermentation at 12–15°C in stainless steel tanks.
Aging: 6 months on the fine lees with regular batonnage in stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels. This combination gives the wine depth and texture without losing its freshness.
Alcohol content: Not specified
Tasting Note: Brilliant, clear lemon yellow. The nose is exceptionally precise and refined: white flowers, apricot, pear, and salty minerality combine with hints of citrus zest and a subtle sea breeze. On the palate, it is powerful yet elegant, with a silky texture, well-integrated acidity, and a long, fresh finish. A profound, maritime-influenced Albariño with great potential.
Food pairing: Ideal with fine seafood (lobster, scallops), delicate fish dishes, sushi, or vitello tonnato. Also excellent with creamy pasta, white poultry, and mature goat cheese. A versatile accompaniment for sophisticated cuisine.
