Winemaking: Hand-picked at the end of September into 15 kg crates, sorted on a table, 5 days of cold maceration, temperature-controlled fermentation in 150 hl stainless steel tanks, malolactic fermentation in 150 hl wooden vats
Ageing: 12 to 14 months in barriques, 80 % French and 20 % American oak
Tempranillo from 25 to 45-year-old vines at 920 metres near Roa, then 12 to 14 months in barriques. Youthful garnet in the glass, with violet, balsamic, cigar box and liquorice on the nose. The oak brings spice and a touch of toast, and the palate stays fresh and dense.
Drink it at 14 to 16 °C with grilled meat, braises or roast lamb. We also stock the 2021 if you want a Crianza with an extra year in bottle.

The bodega was founded in 1998 as the continuation of a project that began in 1985 with the Páramo de Guzmán cheeses. It is in Roa de Duero in the province of Burgos, right in the D.O. Ribera del Duero. The owner is Cayetana Santos, and the wines are made by oenologist Mapi Melado. The bodega also has a tunnel almost a kilometre long.
