Grape variety: 100% Tempranillo
Year: 2017
Production: Strictly limited edition – only 500 bottles in the 2017 vintage, exclusively from hand-picked, double-selected grapes. A very unique and aged Tempranillo wine.
Origin: DO Ribera del Duero, Roa de Duero (Burgos); single vineyard with over 60-year-old vines, carefully preserved by the Raíz de Guzmán winery
Vineyard: Vines between 60 and 80 years old on barren, stony soils at an altitude of 900 m – perfect balance between fruit ripeness and natural freshness
Soils: Red, stony soil with excellent drainage – promotes concentration, structure and aromatic intensity
Wine style: Terroir wine of great depth – powerful, complex and structured with long potential and velvety tannins
Climate: Continental climate with cold spring nights and high sunshine – slow ripening promotes sweet tannins and balanced acidity
Vinification: Manual harvest with double selection of grapes and berries; fermentation and aging according to artisanal standards
Maturation: 36 months in two exclusive French barriques, followed by several years of slow bottle maturation in an underground cave to allow the aromas to fully develop
Alcohol content: Approx. 15% vol – concentrated, long-lasting red wine with depth, maturity and perfect balance
Tasting Note: Dense ruby red; aromas of ripe black fruit, spices, leather, and fine wood on the nose. Powerful yet refined on the palate, with silky tannins, mineral freshness, and impressive length.
Food recommendation: Excellent with lamb loin, mature Ibérico ham, game dishes or simply on its own as a meditative wine for special occasions
