Bobal with 24 months in Allier oak barrels. Intense garnet, with ripe black fruit, a floral touch and spice on the nose. Powerful and meaty on the palate, fruit and oak evenly matched, with candied fruit on the long finish.
A wine for pot roast, game or a board of aged hard cheese. Compared with the 2021, which was aged the same way, it has an extra year in bottle.

The winery
Félix Martínez is the third generation to run the bodega, founded in 1945. His bush vines stand at 800 metres at the foot of the Sierra del Remedio, where the Solano wind takes the edge off the summer heat.

Vino de Pago is the highest quality level for Spanish estates. It applies to smaller estates that make outstanding wine and meet further criteria. Vera de Estenas received it in 2013, in recognition of the estate's microclimate and its consistently high quality. Only a few bodegas in Spain may use the name. The Merlot carries the origin “D.O.P. Pago Vera de Estenas”.
