Grape variety: 100% Mantonegro – A single-varietal red wine from the autochthonous Mallorcan main grape, full of character and intense
Vintage: 2023 & 2024
Production: Very limited small series – only about 318 bottles, partly matured in tanks, partly in barriques
Origin: Vi de la Terra Mallorca, Rosaberto Winery; naturally cultivated vineyards near Felanitx, close to the Mediterranean Sea
Vineyard: Old Mantonegro vines on calcareous, well-drained soils; characterized by a Mediterranean climate with marine influences
Soils: Red, stony soil with excellent drainage – supports fruit concentration, tannin structure and aromatic depth
Wine style: Multi-layered coupage of 2024 tank character and 2023 oak barrel aging – combines freshness and spice, elegant and approachable
Climate: Mediterranean island climate with hot days and cool nights – promotes slow ripening and balance of fruit and acidity
Vinification: Hand-picked, double-selected grapes; minimal intervention vinification – tank and barrique aging combined
Maturation: 12 months in used French barriques, followed by fine lees storage for integration of aromas and structure
Alcohol content: Approx. 15% vol – powerful, but balanced with depth and Mediterranean elegance
Tasting Note: Deep ruby red; intense aromas of ripe plums and elderberries, with spicy clove and vanilla notes. On the palate, full-bodied and smooth with fine tannins and a long, spicy finish.
Food recommendation: Perfect with paella, grilled lamb, tapas or hearty grilled meat – also a treat on its own
