Vineyard: Old Mantonegro vines on calcareous soils, hand-picked
Soils: Red, stony, well-drained soil
Climate: Mediterranean island climate, warm days and cool nights
Winemaking: Double sorting, minimal intervention; tank-aged wine (2024) blended with barrique-aged wine (2023)
Ageing: Barrique portion 12 months in used French barriques, then on the fine lees
Alcohol: approx. 15 % vol
A blend across two vintages: Mantonegro from 2024 aged in tank and Mantonegro from 2023 that spent twelve months in used barriques. Deep ruby, with ripe plum, elderberry, clove and vanilla on the nose. Full and supple on the palate, with fine tannins and a long, spicy finish.
At around 15 % this is Rosaberto's most powerful wine. It belongs with grilled lamb, paella or meaty tapas rather than light summer food.

Serve at 16 to 18 °C.

Since 2018 Robert and Conny have run one of Mallorca's smallest wineries, among dry-stone walls near Felanitx. Only island varieties grow here, such as Callet, Manto Negro and Prensal Blanc.

Conny Koeninger and Robert Schumacher, since 2018. Their winery is near Felanitx in the south-east of Mallorca and is one of the smallest on the island. They put their idea into practice with oenologist Henri Fink and the Weinwert team, by hand from planting to bottling.
