Vineyard: The Nebbiolo grapes come exclusively from the Colla vineyard in Vezza d'Alba. The vines grow on calcareous soils and are harvested entirely by hand, guaranteeing precise selection and ideal ripeness.
Soils: Calcareous soils, typical for Roero, predestined for elegant, profound Nebbiolo wines.
Climate: Continental climate with warm days and cool nights; optimal conditions for aromatic precision and fine, ripe tannins.
Vinification: Fermentation in stainless steel tanks at 28°C for 15 days; complete malolactic fermentation in stainless steel; followed by 18 months of aging in Allier barriques (50% new wood, medium toast). Then, bottle aging for further harmonization.
Alcohol content: 14.5% vol.
Tasting note: On the nose, raspberries, red currants, dried roses, and a delicate vanilla aroma. On the palate, rich, warm, and balanced, with supple tannins and great aromatic elegance. The finish is long and harmonious, reminiscent of red fruits and subtle floral notes.
Food pairing: Ideal with all kinds of meat dishes, international cuisine, game, and medium-aged cheeses. Serving temperature: 18 °C.

The winery
The Colla vineyard of Fabrizio Battaglino's grandfather played a key role in the creation of the Roero DOCG. Fabrizio vinifies each plot around Vezza d'Alba separately, so you can taste the differences between the soils.

The Colla vineyard has belonged to the family for generations; it was Fabrizio's grandfather's vineyard. It played a key role when the first Roero DOCG was recognised, and the family is still proud of that. Two of our Nebbiolos come from this site: the Roero Colla 2021 for CHF 27 and the Roero Riserva Colla 2020 for CHF 32.
