Muller Cepa is Galician for woman and vine. With this wine Ronsel do Sil honours the women who do the hard work in the vineyards, and the label draws on the story of Syrinx from Ovid's Metamorphoses. The Mencía grows in the Bibei valley at 650 metres, on slate slopes steeper than 50%. Cherry red with a violet rim, blossom and wild berries; mineral and fresh on the palate, with the fruit in the background.

The winery
María José Yravedra is one of Spain's first women winemakers. With her husband Felipe she brought the old bodega on the Sil back to life in 2010, and since then the wine there has moved by gravity alone.

Ronsel is the wake a boat leaves behind. The bodega sits right at the bottom of the steep slopes of the Sil, near Sacardebois, looking across to the vineyards of Amandi. The vines belong to the D.O. Ribeira Sacra.
