Elyo is Coquillade's entry-level range. The 2024 Blanc is mostly Viognier, with Grenache Blanc and Roussanne. Expect ripe apricot, honeydew melon and peach on the nose, with pineapple and passion fruit behind them. Despite all that yellow fruit it stays fresh on the palate and finishes mineral, with a slightly salty edge.

Pour it with poultry in morel cream, asparagus with hollandaise, a paella or raw-milk goat and sheep cheeses. It works as an aperitif, but we prefer it at the table, where the fruit has some food to meet.

Still unsure?

What is the difference between Elyo and Coquillade?

They are the estate's two ranges from the Luberon, each in white, rosé and red. Elyo is the entry range, with wines at around CHF 29. The Coquillade wines cost CHF 39. Red and rosé in both ranges are made from Syrah and Grenache. The Elyo Blanc blends Marsanne, Viognier, Grenache Blanc and Roussanne, while the Coquillade Blanc is almost pure Roussanne.
