The same Pizarra 2012 as in the standard bottle, here in magnum. Garnet with a brick-red rim, raspberry, black cherry, herbs and graphite, then power, ripe tannins and a finish of chocolate and roasted coffee.
A magnum is meant for a table of eight to ten. Put it next to a leg of lamb or roast venison at 16 to 18 °C, and open it an hour ahead.

In 1979 Fernando planted his first plot on an overgrown piece of land belonging to his wife Ana's family. Today the vines grow on Roman-era terraces above the Sil, on slopes of up to 85%.

It began in 1979, when Fernando planted his first plot, “Carballo Cobo”, on an overgrown piece of land belonging to his wife Ana's family. Reviving viticulture in such a tough setting was a real risk. Today the family farms around 25 hectares in 86 plots along the Sil and beyond. Algueira is one of the pioneers that brought heroic viticulture back to the Ribeira Sacra.
