Patrimonio is Algueira's most affordable red, a blend of Mencía, Sousón and Garnacha. After ten months in barrel, Fernando's family kept it for several years in their own cellar. Deep garnet, cherry and raspberry, a little eucalyptus and orange peel, white pepper; supple tannins, fresh acidity and a spicy finish.
It is already a pleasure to drink, no need to cellar it further. Serve it with game, grilled meat or aged cheese at 16 to 18 °C.

The winery
In 1979 Fernando planted his first plot on an overgrown piece of land belonging to his wife Ana's family. Today the vines grow on Roman-era terraces above the Sil, on slopes of up to 85%.

It began in 1979, when Fernando planted his first plot, “Carballo Cobo”, on an overgrown piece of land belonging to his wife Ana's family. Reviving viticulture in such a tough setting was a real risk. Today the family farms around 25 hectares in 86 plots along the Sil and beyond. Algueira is one of the pioneers that brought heroic viticulture back to the Ribeira Sacra.
