In the glass, Massuria 2010 displays a deep ruby red with garnet reflections, an indication of its exceptional ripeness. The nose is intense and complex, with aromas of ripe red and black fruits such as blackberries, cherries, and plums, complemented by tertiary notes of tobacco, leather, and a hint of truffle. Subtle spice notes such as cinnamon, nutmeg, and black pepper, as well as a distinct minerality from the slate soil, add further depth.

On the palate, the 2010 vintage presents itself powerfully and densely, with smooth, well-integrated tannins and a lively acidity that lends the wine structure and freshness. The finish is long and persistent, characterized by dark chocolate, herbs, and a mineral elegance that reflects the terroir of Bierzo.

2010 – an exceptional vintage: Along with 2015, 2010 is one of the best vintages of the past twenty years since winemaker José Mas began working in Bierzo. A hot and dry year produced perfectly ripe and healthy grapes, resulting in a powerful, dense wine with character. For José Mas, this is a wine of outstanding quality and great aging potential – a wine that will continue to gain depth and elegance over the years.

Massuria 2010 is a wine for lovers of powerful, terroir-driven wines. Perfect with braised meats, game, or aged cheeses. An outstanding vintage that masterfully captures the essence of the Mencía grape and the uniqueness of the Bierzo terroir.
