Vinification: Whole bunches, traditionally foot-treaded, in 2,000 and 5,000 L French oak barrels. Cold maceration prior to fermentation, temperature-controlled fermentation, and post-fermentation for 30 days.

Aging: 12-18 months in French oak barrels and foudres.

Alcohol content: 14%

Algueira Pizarra 2013 displays an intense garnet red with ruby reflections, emphasizing its depth and concentration. Complex aromas of black and red fruits such as blackberries, cherries, and plums unfold on the nose , accompanied by subtle notes of graphite, spices, and roasted coffee. The mineral imprint of the slate soil is palpable, lending the wine a distinctive elegance and depth.

On the palate, the 2013 vintage is full-bodied and structured, with ripe, fine-grained tannins and a lively acidity that lends the wine freshness and balance. Aromas of dark chocolate, dried herbs, and a hint of balsamic notes add complexity. The long finish is characterized by mineral nuances that perfectly reflect the terroir of the Ribeira Sacra.
