Algueira Pizarra 2011 displays a brilliant ruby red with garnet reflections, emphasizing its maturity and elegance. Complex aromas of ripe red fruits such as currants and black cherries unfold on the nose , accompanied by subtle floral notes such as violets and hints of tobacco, graphite, and delicate spices. The mineral note of the slate soil is pronounced, lending the wine depth and character.
On the palate, the 2011 vintage presents itself with supple, ripe tannins and well-integrated acidity, offering freshness and balance. Aromas of dark berries, herbs, and a hint of cedarwood are complemented by elegant minerality and a harmonious texture. The finish is long and refined, with lingering spice and a clear terroir imprint.
Algueira Pizarra 2011 is a mature wine with great aging potential, yet still fully ready to drink. Ideally enjoyed at 16–18°C, it perfectly accompanies lamb chops, game dishes, or braised mushrooms.
