Aging: 15 months in French oak barrels, 6 months in stainless steel and 2 years in bottle.

Alcohol content: 13.5%

Massuria 2011 presents itself in the glass with a deep ruby red, already showing slight garnet reflections, an indication of its maturity. The nose is complex and intense, with dominant notes of ripe dark fruits such as blackberries and black cherries, complemented by tertiary aromas of tobacco, leather, and a hint of truffle. Spicy nuances such as black pepper and cinnamon, as well as mineral hints from the slate soil, add additional depth.

On the palate, the 2011 vintage impresses with a harmonious balance between power and elegance. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, while the lively acidity lends the wine a surprising freshness that perfectly balances its maturity. The finish is long and persistent, characterized by mineral and spicy notes that masterfully reflect the terroir of Bierzo.

2011 was a challenging year with reversed seasons. In such years, José deliberately reduces maceration and extraction, resulting in lighter wines that nevertheless exhibit clear fruit and a balanced profile. A wine to be enjoyed.

Massuria 2011 is exactly that—a light, elegant wine with pure fruit and harmonious balance. Despite the challenges of the vintage, it impresses with its drinkability and authenticity.
