Attis

Bodega Attis is the passion project of brothers Robustiano and Baldomero Fariña, who are realizing their vision in the Val do Salnés, the heart of the Rías Baixas: to create honest, expressive wines that reflect the wild beauty of the Atlantic and the ancient wisdom of their homeland. With passion, respect for nature, and meticulous craftsmanship, they create wines full of character, depth, and soul.

Origin

Bodega Attis is located in Val do Salnés, the coolest and most coastal part of the Rías Baixas in Galicia, nestled among gentle hills, old vineyards, and the fresh breeze of the Atlantic.

The Winemakers

The team at Bodega Attis is like a family – deeply rooted in Galicia, united by their love of wine. With dedication, respect for nature, and artisanal skill, the Fariña brothers and their small, passionate team craft wines that truly embody the soul of their homeland.

Philosophy

The philosophy of Bodega Attis is built on respect: respect for nature, for the terroir, and for traditional craftsmanship. In both the vineyards and the cellar, the Fariña brothers follow a philosophy of minimal intervention, to capture the pure expression of their grape varieties and the rugged beauty of the Atlantic climate in every wine. Authenticity, sustainability, and patience define their work – resulting in wines with soul, depth, and true origin.

Vineyards and terroir

  • Location and soils
The vineyards of Bodega Attis are located in the Val do Salnés, the coastal sub-zone of the Rías Baixas, on granite-weathered, sandy-loamy soils that give the wines freshness, minerality and a distinctive Atlantic character.

  • Vines
Bodega Attis works mainly with native Galician grape varieties such as Albariño, Caiño, Espadeiro and Pedral , which authentically reflect the Atlantic terroir.

  • Climate
The Atlantic climate with high humidity, mild temperatures, and fresh sea breezes ensures slow ripening at Bodega Attis and gives the wines lively acidity, elegance, and freshness.

Vinification

The winemaking process at Bodega Attis begins with careful vineyard care and continues through harvest and vinification – always shaped by deep respect for the grape variety. A strong connection to tradition and wine culture, patient work in the vineyard, and passion in handling the harvested fruit define the estate’s style. Thanks to the team’s experience and their clear commitment to nature, the vine, and traditional craftsmanship, they produce wines that authentically reflect the Atlantic region and stand out with a distinctive identity.

Wines

The three monovarietal red wines made from the three indigenous grape varieties Pedral, Espadeiro, and Sousón are very elegant and fresh wines. We love them.

For us, Attis is one of the best Albariño producers in the Rías Baixas —the heartland of this grape variety. The freshness of the Atlantic is palpable in every glass. The Attis Mar—which is bottle-aged for six months 12 meters below sea level —most powerfully expresses the region's minerality and salinity.

Attis produces wines under the "Sitta" label that are produced outside the regulatory DO standards . We are extremely pleased with the products. The orange wines, the rosé, and the two sweet wines are outstanding projects from the bodega.

Distinctive Feature

The Atlantic character of Albariño wines is an essential part of Bodega Attis’s identity. The Atlantic imparts a pronounced salinity to the wines made from different indigenous grape varieties of the D.O. Rías Baixas, a feature particularly evident in the Val do Salnés subzone. The humid climate, mild temperatures, and predominantly granite-based soils are defining factors for Rías Baixas wines. These conditions allow the vines to grow at their natural rhythm, without stress, resulting in exceptional expressions of color, aroma, and acidity.
