Tasting note:
Profunda is an intense, deep garnet red with high color intensity – clear and brilliant in the glass.
On the nose, ripe aromas of dark fruits and red plums unfold, accompanied by delicate notes of undergrowth, sweet spices like vanilla, and a subtle roasted aroma. Added to this are elegant nuances of dark chocolate, licorice, moist earth, and balsamic notes, accompanied by lively hints of coffee, cedarwood, toffee, and fine dark chocolate.
On the palate, Profunda presents itself intensely and long, with lively, fine-grained tannins – an expression of the gravelly soil. The wine is velvety, powerful, and complex, with ripe, well-integrated tannins and a long, fruity finish. A structured, profound red wine with impressive length and elegance.
A Tempranillo with strong character , ideal with game, lamb, grilled meat, or aged hard cheeses. Profunda is an expressive example of the quality of old vines from the DO Ribera del Duero.
