Year: 2018

Grape varieties: Sousón, Caiño Longo, Caiño da Terra, Carabuñeira, Mencía

Production: Limited edition of 1,500 bottles (0.75 l) and some magnums (1.5 l)

Origin: High-altitude single vineyard “A Ferreira” in the Avia Valley, Galicia

Vineyard: Restructured in 1994, this plot is located on gentle, southwest-facing slopes with excellent ventilation. Planting density: 5,000 vines/ha. Sustainable management without the use of chemical herbicides or fungicides.

Soils: Clay on slate (xisto), well drained

Orientation: Southwest

Climate: Atlantic climate with continental influence – a cool winter, little rain in spring, sunny, hot summer and cool nights in September led to balanced ripeness and preserved freshness.

Vinification: Careful hand-harvesting in 18-kg crates, rigorous selection at the sorting table. Spontaneous fermentation at controlled temperatures in wooden fermentation vats. Long maceration.

Aging: 30 months in 500-liter French oak barrels, followed by at least 12 months of bottle aging; bottling on a "fruit day" in June 2022.

Alcohol content: 13.7% vol.

Tasting note: Deep, bright purple color. On the nose, intense, mineral-driven aromas of sour cherry, blackberry, and floral oils are complemented by notes of licorice and dark chocolate.

On the palate, it's juicy and concentrated, with dark berry fruit, subtle spice and pepper notes, and a velvety, dense texture. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, and the finish displays power, freshness, and floral nuances.

An energetic, complex red wine – powerful, profound, yet precise, ideal for lovers of structured, terroir-influenced wines.
